Dogtra 200NCP Gold Review

I work with the humane society as a dog trainer and this gives me the opportunity to work with a variety of dogs and temperaments. The dogs love it when I arrive because they are released from their cages and are outside playing and working.

This is the second review of the Dogtra electronic training collar brand.

This Dogtra 200NCP Gold is the second collar in its line and says it’s the best selling collar of the year every year. This is probably because its price is still reasonable, it’s small in size, but it offers a few additional benefits that the base model doesn’t.

The 200 model has the same receiver as the 175 model, but the transmitter is slightly more ergonomic for the hand. In the initial model, the base box is rounded on the sides instead of the rigid box square. It is slightly longer but thinner in width. There are three buttons on the transmitter, nick, hard and vibrate only button. This gives a similar feel to your cell phone when it vibrates and gives the dog the opportunity to feel a sensation, not a static shock, and make a decision to correct the behavior.

The 200 model also offers slightly longer range at ½ mile, and the collar is also waterproof. The transmitter is still only water resistant, but the bracelet should still be in good condition if it rains and a few drops fall on it. You don’t want to go out into a lake and submerge the transmitter because you will likely run into problems.

I used this to train a dog named Henry in a humane society. Henry was a hound mix who was always very interested in scents when he went out and had to learn to focus if he wanted to be adopted. He also needed a job while he was out so he could focus his nose and efforts on a task at hand. It was great to have the extended range as I was able to start tracking work with it. He worked with food as his main source of scent and initially using a lone string, and this collar was able to allow me the freedom to work away from me, knowing that I could have control to bring him back to me if he wanted to. went away. That’s the beauty of these electronic collars. They are cordless, which means you can eventually reach a point where you don’t need a leash attached to your dog, but have a spot to refocus on you when needed.
